These two pieces were commissioned as part of the UKRI funded ‘Rewilding’ Later Prehistory project at Oxford Archaeology in collaboration with Hepple Wilds in the Coquet Valley. The project considers how understanding the past might help think about future landscape change at Hepple. ‘Hepple’ draws on the archaeology of the landscape to think about its distinct and power of place through time. ‘Boddle Moss, Hepple’ is a celebration of the extraordinary, deep peatland high on the Simonside hills, with its hidden clefts of bright ecology and submerged archaeological worlds.
