Robert Newton
Born in 1964, Robert graduated from Sunderland University in 1998 with a Diploma in Fine Art, continuing to reside and work in Northumberland today. Robert paints as a direct response to his immediate surroundings; exploring colour, composition and expression yet maintaining the very traditions of British painting. Making sketches and visual notes, Robert paints intuitively and expressively with bold sweeping brushstrokes that sum up the whole passages of the landscape before him.
