From a background in architecture, education and research, Judith has an academic approach to painting – combining a range of artistic influences, with a personal, sometimes formalised, interpretation of landscape and man-made structures. Her Lindisfarne Castle and Farne Islands Rock studies have become a recognisable individual style of strong geometries, sometimes art deco-influenced patterns integrating natural and built form. Judith Appleby is based in Newcastle upon Tyne.
