Linda Schwab studied painting in Preston and the Slade School of Fine Art as an MA student. Since then she has worked as an illustrator, educator and Public Artist and has now returned to painting full time.
She paints directly from life, or from ‘found’ photographs, or photos taken with her mobile phone. She aims to create an alternative snapshot rather than a copy, the paintings capture something mysterious and unknown, someone at a distance, or seen from the corner of the eye and committed to memory.
Linda has paintings in private and public collections and award winning public art in situ in Leeds City Centre and hospitals across the country.
