Richard trained as an artist at the Newcastle School of Art. An accomplished illustrator his work has appeared in numerous publications including The Times and Radio Times. After graduating with a First Class Honours Degree Richard worked, as an illustrator, artist, broadcaster and teacher. When taking part in a documentary on the arts he was given an offer to appear full time in front of the cameras. After twenty years in television as a News Anchor at the BBC & ITV he started painting again full time. Working from his studio deep in the Northumberland countryside, and in Provence he has fulfilled a lifetime dream to paint and document some of his favourite towns and villages.
